APPLIQUÉS

This category brings together decorative appliqués for fascinators, garments and accessories. It is divided into sequin and bead, textile, iron-on, metal and plastic appliqués: brass filigree insects, rhinestone pieces, lace, seed bead embroidery, medallions, flowers and rhinestone strips.

Iron-on appliqués are fixed with an iron at 150 °C, although sewing them is recommended so they withstand washing. The others are sewn or glued on. Each product page states the dimensions, material and colours; several metal filigrees are nickel-free.

Perhaps what it needs is some type of decorative application to give it a unique and personal touch or even to improve it. In any case, you can count on the range available in this section, whether you make hats or garments or like to enhance the products you buy.

Specifically, here you will find two types of products: textile applications and thermo-adhesive applications. The former are textile ornaments that can be attached to the garment or accessory in various ways, such as sewing them on, using safety pins, or adding glue. The latter includes a layer of adhesive that is activated by heat, usually from an iron.

We have textile applications made from multiple materials. We can mention rhinestone, crystal, mother-of-pearl, metallic, plastic applications, and more. As for the shapes, you will find a huge variety, although the most popular are stars, flowers, leaves, and insects.

If the variety of textile applications already seems crazy to you, let us tell you that we have an even wider variety of thermo-adhesive applications. Some of them are in the shape of flags, animals and insects, children's designs, embroidery pieces, skulls... It's better to see it for yourself than have us explain it!

WHAT IS A HABERDASHERY?

A haberdashery, also called a notions store, is a shop that sells products for sewing, knitting, and crafts, as well as certain types of clothing.

Haberdasheries tend to be small shops located in city centers, suburban neighborhoods, and shopping malls. There you can find all kinds of materials and tools for sewing works and other similar activities.

More specifically, they usually sell sewing items, textile spare parts, fabric decorations, hair adornments, and jewelry, tools (buttonhole, bobbin lace, crochet, cross-stitch...), dress accessories, baby clothes, lingerie, and men's underwear.

WHAT IS A THERMO-ADHESIVE APPLICATION?

A thermo-adhesive application is a sort of sticker designed to adhere to fabrics. The difference between it and glue in terms of adhesion strength and quantity is greater in the former than the latter.

How do these types of applications adhere to clothing? Is it as easy as with paper stickers? This is where the iron comes into play.

To adhere a thermo-adhesive application to a garment, place it on the ironing board and set the application exactly where you want to attach it. Turn on the iron to 150°C (302°F) and, without using steam, press on the application for about 10 seconds.

The heat will melt the glue, allowing it to penetrate the fibers of the garment. Once it cools, the glue will harden, securing the patch to the fabric. We recommend sewing it on to prevent it from coming off during washing.
