This product is a non-toxic rusting powder

Choose a light Powertex colour such as Ivory, Yellow Ochre, Terracotta or Red, or mix a little Ivory with any Powertex colour. Apply a coat of Powertex to your object and leave it to dry. Meanwhile, make a smooth paste in a cup with Powertex + 3D Sand. Add between 10 and 25% rust powder to a grey colour. Add a dash of vinegar and a dash of water and mix again.

Apply a coat of this paste to the object with a brush or palette knife. For different shades and effects, sprinkle a little powder onto the wet paste and press it in. The more rust powder you add, the darker the result, and the more vinegar you add, the darker the result as well. Fill a spray bottle with water and a maximum of 50% vinegar and spray the object a few times. (More vinegar gives a faster, darker rust effect.) You can build it up in layers, one on top of the other.
