Linoleum printing, also known as linocut, is a relief printing technique, meaning that the raised areas of the block are printed and the areas worked with the gouge remain white. It takes its name from the material used, a compound of heavily oxidised linseed oil (linoxyn), cork, jute and pigments on a hessian backing, giving it a somewhat rubbery consistency.
This product is used by Bridget Bailey to create her famous velvet irises
