Immerse yourself in the art of millinery with our intensive one-day course specialising in felt. This course is designed to teach you the latest and most sophisticated techniques in the world of felt hats. You will learn from expert milliners how to transform 100% merino wool felt into elegant hats, using both classic wooden hat blocks and modern ABS plastic hat blocks.

Course Content:

- Theory and Practice: We cover everything from basic to advanced techniques for shaping felt hats.

- Preparing and Stiffening Felt: You will learn how to prepare felt before stiffening and explore different types of stiffener.

- Blocking and Wiring Techniques: You will learn to shape felt and wire the hat brim.

- Couture Trims and Finishes: We will teach you to make exclusive trims such as felt flowers and bows, as well as ageing techniques and fine finishes.

Practical Projects:

During the course, each student will complete 2 felt hats, applying the techniques learnt.

Requirements:

Basic sewing skills are required to take part in this course.
