It is a galvanised wire covered with cotton thread. It is used in millinery for inserting into the outer edge of the hat brim, allowing you to create unique shapes.

It is also used in floristry and flower making, as well as in making jewellery, furniture, accessories and clothing.

Thanks to its special cotton covering, it has a non-slip feel.

Cotton-covered millinery wire is very versatile, ductile and malleable, which makes it easy to handle, and it is also relatively light.

Tips for millinery wire:

1.2 mm: a useful extra-firm wire for creating rigid hat structures
1.0 mm: a firm wire suitable for hat structures, flower stems and lighter brims
0.30 mm: Almost like a thread, this fine wire is excellent for securing trims and creating flower stems.
