Millinery Wire

It is a galvanized wire covered with cotton and rayon thread. It is used in the millinery industry to insert into the outer edge of the hat brim, allowing for unique shapes to be created. It is also used in forestry and flower making, as well as in the manufacturing of jewelry, furniture, accessories and clothing. Due to its special cotton coating, it produces a non-slip feel.

Thickness Guide

1.2 mm – An extra rigid wire, generally useful for creating very firm hat structures.
1.0 mm – A firm wire, suitable for hat structures, flower stems, and lightweight wings.
0.8 mm – A slightly firm wire, ideal for light structural details and embellishments.
0.4 mm – Almost like thread, this fine wire is excellent for attaching embellishments and creating flower veins.
