It is a galvanised wire covered with cotton thread. It is used in the millinery industry, inserted into the outer edge of the hat brim, allowing unique shapes to be created.

It is also used in floristry and flower making, as well as in making jewellery, furniture, accessories and clothing.

Thanks to its special cotton covering, it has a non-slip feel.

THICKNESS GUIDE

1.2 mm – An extra-rigid wire, generally useful for creating very firm hat structures.
1.0 mm – A firm wire, suitable for hat structures, flower stems and lightweight brims.
0.8 mm – Slightly firm wire, ideal for light structural details and trimmings.
0.4 mm – Almost like a thread, this fine wire is excellent for securing trimmings and creating veining on flowers.
