CRIN / HORSEHAIR / CRINOLINE


Crin, also known as crinoline or horsehair, is a net-like material, easy to mold and is often used in the decoration of clothing, hats and accessories. It was originally used in 16th-century Europe for upper-class fashion, often to hold the elaborate dresses worn daily. In modern society, it is most commonly found in the embellishment of accessories, wedding dresses, hats, pamelas, headdresses, fascinators, costumes and other luxurious outfits. It is also used as a lining to give them fullness and body.
In Artipistilos we have a great selection of styles, measures and colors of mane available for your election. Tubular, corrugated, pleated, fine, gross, luxe, metallized, rhombus and spot. All available to make your best ornaments such as ribbons, flowers, etc. The horsehair is made of polyester, nylon, polypropylene with a cotton thread on one side of the ribbon so that it can be pursed.
The crin can be sewn, frayed, melted or any other technique you can think of to achieve original effects.
