How to prepare rabbit tail?
One of the disadvantages why many artists do not work with it is that the process can seem very laborious. Here we leave you some indications so that you can see that rabbit glue does not require great effort and its process is very simple and economical:
What you need to use rabbit glue: Rabbit glue and water.
1.- Moisturise the rabbit glue
When you buy this product, either in flakes or in grains, it comes dehydrated. Therefore, before you start working with it, you must hydrate it again. The hydration of the glue will depend on the format you use but, in general, the process is similar: If you use granulated glue (like the one we provide) it will be enough to leave 50 to 70 gr in 1 litre of lukewarm water for a few hours. After this you can start working with it without any problems.
2.- Prepare the mixture
Once you have the glue hydrated, you only have to prepare it. To do this, heat the mixture of glue and water in a Bain Marie while stirring it. Continue until you get a uniform liquid.
WARNING: It is important that you don't try to heat the fire too much to make it go faster. If the heat exceeds 60 degrees the mixture will no longer be useful. It is better to go slowly without burning the bottle in which you put the glue.
