CARNIVAL COSTUME ACCESSORIES AND SUPPLEMENTS

CARNIVAL COSTUME ACCESSORIES AND SUPPLEMENTS

Carnival is one of the most anticipated celebrations of the year. It's also a unique opportunity, along with Halloween, to embody your favorite fictional character. Whether you want to get the components of your costume or create it yourself, this section will be of great help in achieving your dream carnival costumes.

We can divide the products we have here into two groups. On one hand, materials that will be useful for making and/or customizing your own carnival costume; on the other hand, accessories and supplements that are in themselves a component for a carnival costume.

In the first group, we highlight the wide variety of decorative stones designed for sewing. They come in various sizes, shapes (square, round, oval, rectangular, etc.), and an enormous variety of colors and cuts. We also feature our costume trims.

Another interesting product is our feather assemblies from all kinds of birds, which can be used to make an Indian costume, or feather boas.

In the second group, we mainly offer a wide variety of costume hats, as expected from an online hat shop. You can find, for example, the typical pirate hat, hat of Zorro or Mexican hat.

In addition, you'll also find other popular Carnival products such as Carnival ears, Carnival nails, or Carnival masks. The list goes on, but the best thing is to discover the rest for yourself!

WHAT IS CARNIVAL?

Carnival is a celebration stemming from Christian countries that takes place just before Lent, between February and March, starting on Thursday and ending the following Tuesday. During these days, people wear costumes and parades and street parties are organized.

Although the way this festivity is celebrated varies between countries, everywhere Carnival is understood as a period of certain permissiveness and excess. The Church does not recognize it as a religious celebration, but that does not detract from its popularity in countries with Catholic and Eastern Orthodox traditions.

The origins of Carnival are not clear. Some say it was already celebrated before Christianity, but there is no evidence of the celebration of an equal festivity before 1200 AD. It is possible that it is the transformation of some pagan festival, like those held in honor of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine.

One thing is certain: Carnival became popular in America with the settlement of the Spanish and Portuguese on the new continent. Today, the most populous Carnival celebration is that of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

WHAT IS COSPLAY?

Cosplay is a practice closely linked to contemporary cultural products such as comics, cinema, animation, and video games. A cosplayer combines two passions: on the one hand, tailoring and costumes; on the other, the stories and characters from those works of fiction.

Cosplay began as a hobby for people who wanted to embody their favorite characters for a few hours. However, interest in this practice turned it into a mass phenomenon. The most popular type of cosplay is related to Japanese animation, anime cosplay.
