MARVEL AT OUR BUNTAL PAMELAS

MARVEL AT OUR BUNTAL PAMELAS

Looking for a type of pamela that is not only practical and beautiful but also has a unique touch, different from other summer pamelas? You might be interested in buntal pamelas.

The material of these pamelas is not only natural, resistant, and lightweight, ideal for sunny days, but also distinctive in its design. These pamelas are meant to be worn with a base headband, placed at an angle on the head, creating a very suggestive and sophisticated effect.

In this section, you will find buntal pamelas in various colors (red, blue, gray, white, black...) as well as different styles (take note of the shape of the brim). Choose the one that best suits the event you are planning to attend and your personal taste. You will be the center of attention!

The buntal used in all our pamelas is of the highest quality, with the edge of the brim reinforced with a sinamay trim or bias. If you are a hatter or a hatmaking enthusiast, you can use the pamelas we present here as an excellent base. Let your imagination soar!

WHAT IS BUNTAL?

Buntal is a type of straw from the Philippines, specifically from the leaves of the buri palm tree. One of the most famous products made from buntal are buntal hats, which have been manufactured by peasants in the islands since the 19th century.

The traditional buntal hats were wide-brimmed for use by peasants and farmers. Later versions that began to be exported abroad were styled like a Fedora hat, which used softer fibers and a finer weave than the traditional model.

Buntal hats are often confused with Panama hats, but buntal is more durable and has a silkier texture. Buntal hats are sometimes referred to as the "East Indies Panama hat" or "Bangkok hat".

Today, many types of hats use this valuable material, including the pamelas you can find in this section.

WHAT ARE PAMELAS?

Pamelas are a type of women's hat characterized by their large brim, which can be straight or have some waves. The crown is generally low and round, although there are exceptions.

Their features make them ideal for wearing on very sunny days, which is why the pamela is also known as a beach hat. Pamelas for weddings are also quite common.

There are many types of pamelas that can be suitable for both a beach day and a wedding. If you need a morning wedding pamela, take a look at our catalog, especially the satin pamelas we present here.

Whether this accessory is appropriate for a particular context largely depends on its craftsmanship. Pamelas can have bows, ribbons, flowers, feathers, tulles... Generally, the more decorated it is, the more suitable it will be for a gala event or a wedding.
